  1. The audience for this piece is parents and adults ( because kids still believe in Santa). The author for writing this piece is most likely to show how some "Santa's" bring and spread Christmas cheer to kids. The topic sentence of this article is "As children across the United States have made the annual pilgrimage to meet Santa Claus in their local malls, every so often he has made a special effort or gesture that no one could have expected. The best time to read this article would be most likely Christmas Eve night. This topic is important because it makes people feel good when they read about accounts like this and it also spreads holiday cheer. I will use this information to tell people about the accounts of this mall Santa's that helped kids and made their day.

  2. The article is really meant for anybody to read, not much of one specific audience. The purpose of the article was to spread Christmas Joy. It talked about how "Santa's" will do so much for the kids.
The topic sentence is in the very beginning "As children across the United States have made the annual pilgrimage to meet Santa Claus in their local malls, every so often he has made a special effort or gesture that no one could have expected."
The best time to read this article during Christmas time or before you go and visit "Santa".
This topic is important because it talks about all the kind things mall Santa's will do. Like they are so kind to the kids who have special needs and will pose however they want. so this information can be used for anyone who is about to go and see Santa.

  3. Article: Have Your Goose, and Afford to Roast It, Too
1)The intended audience for this article is to anyone who has trouble paying for all of the costs that accompany Christmas.
2)The author's purpose for writing this article was to inform people that costs are high. Although at least they aren't rising as much as previously from year to year.
3)The topic sentence in this article that gives an overview of the article is, Those who fret about the cost of holiday gift-giving can take some comfort this year that the prices of the fanciful presents, starting with a partridge in a pear tree, tracked annually as a humorous gauge of inflation have risen a scant 0.6 percent from last year.
4)The best time to read this article would be around Christmas because that is what the subject is about.
5)This article would technically not be very important, but it does inform people about what is going on around them. Thus, the topic is important, but not the article in specific.
6)I wont be using this information because i normally do not buy Christmas presents, but other people could.

2.The author's purpose is to show how something as simple as seeing Santa can leave an impression on us. It gets the reader in the Christmas Spirit.
3.As children across the United States have made the annual pilgrimage to meet Santa Claus in their local malls, every so often he has made a special effort or gesture that no one could have expected.
4.The best time to read this article is around Christmas it conveys the true meaning of Christmas.
    5. This topics important because it lets kids be kids and shows there are still amazing people in this world willing to make someone smile.

  5. The article that I read is called Baking Season. It is meant for adults or someone that can cook. The authors purpose is to help give ideas of what to do with leftover dinners, especially after a big one life Thanksgiving.I would say that the topic sentence is: It is entirely possible that there is still a turkey carcass in your refrigerator, the foil around it crinkled and torn, its bones picked close to clean. This is the topic sentence because the article is about giving ideas of what to do with leftover food. The best time to read this article is during the holidays when you are making large amounts of food. This topic is important because some people do not believe in wasting food so by reading this article, it helps them not waste the food that they have made. I will use this information the next time my mom or family makes a big dinner around the holidays because i will tell them about the article and it will help them to use the food so that it is not wasted.

  6. The article i read was Scary Holiday Movies: See You When You're Sleeping. The article is meant for adults and those who like horror movies. The author's purpose is to inform and entertain people about the different Christmas horror films over the years. The topic sentence of the article would probably be " But this isn't the only film to feature a Krampus". The best time to read this article would be after you've seen the new Christmas horror movie or maybe even before. It would probably be best to read it and look into some of the horror movies before Christmas. This topic is a little important because it shows us a lot about our culture and how some people celebrate or enjoy the holiday season. Some people enjoy it with killer Santas. I will use this information to maybe watch the new horror movie or to maybe check out the other ones and hope that they are not too cheesy.

  7. The audience for this article is rather anyone who is interested about what is going on in the world. The audience is suitable for younger and older, or people who live around New York who are which concern. The authors purpose of this article was to simply inform people about what is going on in New York with the odd weather. The topic sentence of this article i would say is, "Record-breaking warm weather has blanketed the region, lending an almost tropical feel to what should be a season of scarves and hot cocoa". There really isn't a specific time where this article should be read its meant to inform about what is going on but in this article i would say around Christmas time because that was when the article was written. This topic is important because these temperatures are rare around Christmas. Temperatures such as the ones New York had experienced were record breaking, making it a bigger deal. After reading this article i think i will use this information to let my family and friends know about this interesting topic, maybe bring it up at the dinner table! Otherwise, this information doesn't really help me with anything more than just keeping me informed.

  8. One Reason Not to Believe in Santa Claus-
The the audience for this article is for families with young children; people that believe in Santa.
The author's purpose for writing this article is not to make the audience not believe in Santa but to show what how Santa affects a child's life.
The topic sentence was found at the beginning with a question, "Was it appropriate for Santa to come to church at all?"
The best time to read this would be during the holiday season because of how it relates to Santa and Christmas.
This article is not important just because it is talking about how Santa affects us.
The information is not really anything important to know, so probably will not use this information.

  9. One Reason Not to Believe in Santa Claus-
The audience for the article is directed towards families with young children or parents with young children.
The authors purpose is to show the differences between peoples opinions on Santa and their beliefs behind Christmas.
The topic sentence was, "What mattered to me were the lasting impressions that the rituals of Christmas would make on our children."
The best time to read this article is before Christmas when parents are taking them to visit Santa and around the holiday season.
This topic isn't very important but it relates to the beliefs of Christmas which can be tied into religion.
I never really knew that people had issues with Santa's in malls or things like that so it makes me look at things in a different way.

  10. One Reason Not to Believe in Santa Claus
This article is mainly for families that have children and possibly attend church and share the same beliefs.
The author’s purpose is to state the conflict of whether not Santa Claus should be allowed in the church given the teachings of how Christmas revolves around Jesus.
The topic sentence was “Was is appropriate for Santa to come to church at all?”
The best time to read this article is around Christmas.
This topic could be important to certain people because if the reader shares the same faith that this article talks about then the reader can relate and may care about the topic. If the reader does not share the same beliefs and faith then it is most likely not that important to them.
I probably won’t use this information very often but it something new to learn and comprehend.
