  3. 1.) Pathos- He uses emotional connection to the audience, talking about his childhood and how he was adopted. He mentions him getting fired from a company he designed. He gave a quote say sometime life hits you with a brick and you just have to get up and keep moving. He talks about his cancer that he was diagnosed with.
3.) He motivates the students not to give up and not to look at the negatives. He uses a lot of negative stories but some how ends up bringing them to be positive. When he talks about his cancer but then says he has gotten surgery and is fine now. Making some eye contact with the audience while doing his speech.

  4. Trying to convince them to follow their hearts and try to get them to believe they had to "connect the dots". To not lose faith no matter what happens. To do something that you love to do and don't settle for less then that.

Pathos, his adoption story is trying to hit an emotion inside of you. Talking about his parents lack of education and how hard is adoption processes was and then goes on to talk about the other struggles in his life like going to college and being at college.

He connected with the audience gave life stories that some of the kids may have been able too relate too he also kept a light, funny tone keeping their attention but not making a long drawn out boring speech.
