  1. The first child from the West Bank is most like Ishmael considering how he lives and what condition he lives in.

  2. The person that reminds me the most if Ishmael is Lamine, from Senegal. This kid reminds me a lot of Ishmael because of the conditions in which he is living, and when I picture Ishmael in my head, it turns out to look a lot like Lamine.

  3. First of all, way to go filters! Woot! Now, with that out of the way,
Wadi Abu Hindi from The West Bank seems to have the room closest to what Ishmael had because it is basically just a fenced in porch with a roof.

  4. The child from west bank I think connects with Ishmael. I can see that the child has poor sleeping conditions like Ishmael.

  5. The little boy from Senegal connects with Ishmael the most. The boy was holding an axe in his hand which reminds me of how people see violence when they look at Ishmael. They look at Ishmael and think that he is a rebel. The little boy and Ishmael share similar appearances.

  6. The boy from West Back, because there is nothing but there is like a house or a shed thing, but there is no furniture or food.

  7. Lamine from Senegal reminds me most of Ishmael because he has an ax in hand, and looks like he is trying to protect himself, also his room looks old and just whatever he could find to sleep on.

  8. Lamine, 12, Bounkiling village, Senegal because he looked like he does hard labor and his room looks uncomfortable like Ishmael

  9. The children that would connect with Ishmael the most would be the boy from Senegal and the boy from the West Bank. He would connect with them because they don't have very good sleeping conditions such as him during the book.

  10. The young boy from Senegal reminds me more of what Ishmael was living like. The room was small and there was nothing much that was around the room. Unlike the children that are wealthy, they have nicer rooms with things in them. The boy from Senegal also looks like he has been through many things in life.

  13. The child from the West Bank connects to Ishmael. Just like Ishmael, the kid from the West Bank doesn't have the best living conditions. He didn't have much but has enough to live on.

  14. I think that Lamine reminds me the most of Ishmal because of the environment around him and the conditions that he faces just on a daily day.

  15. Bikram age 9 from Nepal can relate to Ishmael because he has to use his surroundings and resources to sleep, live, and survive.

  16. Lamine from Senegal is most like Ishmal to me because they are around the same age and they live in very simple rooms.

  17. Lamine reminds me of Ishmael because of the environment around and he looked to learn how to fight and take care of himself.

  18. I think the person from Senegal is the most like Ishmael. I think this because there was not many objects or luxuries, but there were still books and things that were better than complete poverty.

  19. Lamine reminds me of Ishmal the most because he has very little to live with. It looks as if Lamine isn't in his room most of the day due to the little furniture/stuff he has. This is also true for Ishmal. Ishmal is out most of the day working and traveling. Therefore, he only uses the places he has designated to sleep for only resting at night.

  20. Lamine reminds me of Ishmael because he was holding an axe which reminds me of survival. He looks like he's used to roughin' it like Ishmael.

  21. The Anonymous child for the Ivory Coast reminded me most of Ishmael because Ishmael's living conditions were the most similar. The anonymous child's bedroom looked as if it could be carried around and placed anywhere they could find that was safe. Ishmael has to move around a lot and hope that he can find a place to rest which is often times not very high quality/comfortable.

  22. Lamine connects to Ishmael the most. He looks as if the environment he lives in is not the greatest. He's skinny as if he hasn't eaten. He looks like he works; the axe in his hand.

  23. I think that Lamine from Senegal, reminds me of Ishmael the most because of the way he dressed and his thin body structure from lack of food. Also, the environment that they lived in was similar because of the ax he held signified that he worked a lot in the woods and fields.

  24. The child from Ivory Coast reminds me of Ismael the most because he has the basic essentials he needs and a few 'fancy' things that he could afford.

  25. The boy Lamine connects the most to Ishmael, he has not the best house or bedroom, but he also has books like Ishmael to connect to the outside world. Ishmael didnt have the best home, but made the most of the books, and cassets, he had, the picture has books in Lamine's bedroom , which reminds me of what Ishmael's room would have been like.

  26. Andrea reminds me of Ishmael, because she looks like she has been through a lot by the look on her face. Since she hold a hammer, it make me think that she has had to fend for herself, just like Ishmael.

  27. The anonymous boy probably most like Ishmal because while Ishmal is running around trying to find his family he has to stay in random places. The places most likely have stuff just thrown places from people leaving so quickly

  28. Lamine from Senegal reminds me most of Ishmael from A Long Way Gone. The connections I thought of were not only poverty but the location of where he lived in Africa. Also the ax in his hand, to me it shows that he is a worker and shows violence. The appearance between the two is similar as well.

  29. Lamine reminds me the most of Ishmael because of the living conditions he was in and the ax that he holds could be used for survival and protection.

  30. Bilal from the West Bank because of the living conditions he is in but does not look completely unhappy.

  31. Risa from Japan is like Ishamel, her room was just small and simple with only what was needed, a bed. She didnt have any "fun" things.

  32. I think the second child, the boy from the West Bank is most like Ishmael. His bedroom was outside which reminded me when Ishmael was traveling on his own, he often slept in trees or on the ground.
