Japan and Middle Ages Different- Most important type of literature varies from zen parables to troubadour poetry. Difference in amount of focus while praying or doing other types of activities. Similar- Religion is important to their culture, as well as respect and honor.

Japan v. Middle Ages: Similarities - Both had mostly poetry, Both showed standards for the way life should be. Differences - Japan focused on harmony. Middle ages focused on courtly love.
